Awithi Enoch Home - Kadera VillageThe home of the late Awithi Enoch was the first one that we visited when we arrived in Kadera Village. The deserted home is taken care of by Granny Rosanile Odongo Odera, she takes care of her 7 Grand Children. Ruth Awino, Maureen Awuor, Shadrack Otieno, Ochieng Odhiambo, Maureen Mboya, Mary Aoko and Enock Odera who is named after his late grand father. LIVELIHOODThe family survives by farming, which is carried out by Granny Rosanile together with the children. They grow Maize, Native Vegetables, Peanuts and Bananas. The food grown is consumed by the family and is not enough to be sold at the market. Kinda Kende Women's Group partly assists the family in case of school fees and also in feeding since there are times the family may sleep hungry with nothing to eat. BORE HOLEThe family used to get water from a nearby borehole which caved in a couple of years ago and right now they are forced to travel quite a distance to fetch water from a nearby river. The water fetching process is quite tasking and time consuming. The task is carried out by the children everyday. INTERVENTIONWe appeal for funds to help restore the home's borehole which will assist the young children from traveling quite a distance to fetch water from the river. The borehole budget is as follows: Bore Hole Pump - Labour -

Amazing Story
Granny breast feeds Grand Daughter
This is an amazing story of baby Jacqueline Awuor; her mum passed away when she was only 9 days old, her granny took her and being of such a tender age, all the food she knew was milk and so Granny Rosa started breastfeeding her. Amazingly, at her age (65) she produced milk which baby jacqueline has been suckling on for 3 years now.
