Tom Arondo Ojwang - Kanyadgiro Village

This was another special family we met, the home of the late Tom Arondo Ojwang. The family guardian is mama Doreen Okatch Arondo. her daughter, Grace Achieng is blind - and has 2 children Stephen Omondi (5) and Vincent Otieno (3).

Mama Doreen also takes care of her other grand children, Hazel Awino (6), James Dibogo (10), Sarah Achieng (7), Samin Atieno (3) and Jackline Akinyi (5).

LIVELIHOOD

Mama Doreen is involved in small scale farming where she plants maize, beans and potatoes. 

The N.E.C Group members play a part in supporting this family with food.

INTERVENTION

Grace Achieng (Blind) would like to be assisted to purchase a Knitting Machine & Materials. She underwent training in knitting and is confident enough to knit sweaters, table clothes, socks, hats etc - which she can later sell and sustain her family..
